Edwards Summer Undergraduate Research Program

The Edwards Lifesciences Foundation Summer Undergraduate Research Program (E-SURP) provides the opportunity for summer research training for UCI undergraduates under the guidance of UCI faculty mentors associated with the Edwards Lifesciences Foundation  Cardiovascular Innovation and Research Center (CIRC). This program offers students the opportunity to become immersed in a cardiovascular-related research topic for up to a ten-week period. The number of hours spent working in the lab will be determined by the individual faculty mentors. Students who participate in the E-SURP Program can enroll in summer courses with approval from their faculty mentors.

E-SURP is open to all non-graduating UCI undergraduate students (i.e. must be a returning student) who are in good academic standing and conducting research in a CIRC faculty lab. Interested students will need to submit an application, which includes a brief description of their project and a letter of support from the faculty mentor. All participants will be required to present their summer research project at the October 2024 Heart-to-Heart Training Club. This annual event is a favorite among CIRC members as faculty, students, and researchers are often impressed by the research conducted by E-SURP participants. E-SURP is administered by the Edwards Lifesciences Foundation Cardiovascular innovation and Research Center. Please direct questions to cardio@uci.edu.
